BA Digital Media(For students entering from September 2024 onwards)

This course offers a blend of theory and practice, teaching you all you need for a future in digital and interactive media. You’ll build a portfolio of practical projects and learn to analyse the impact of digital media products on individuals and society. You’ll have the opportunity to gain a range of technical skills using our industry-standard software, including graphic design, programming, animation and post-production, combining these with critical thinking, research and analytical skills.
On completion of the BA Digital Media programme, students will be able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of a number of key areas of subject knowledge including:-
• The history of digital communication technology development
• Professional web and application design
• Graphic design and animation
• Digital media design which incorporates visual and aesthetic, audio and aural, participatory and dynamic elements
• Contemporary social structures, regulatory frameworks and processes that shape digital media
• Research methods central to the study and analysis of digital media
• Theory relevant to the deconstruction and analysis of digital media artefacts, consumption and production processes and cultures.
