Year 4

Subject Specific Learning Outcomes
By the end of Year 4, you will be able to:

1. Communicate fluently and appropriately, maintaining a high degree of grammatical accuracy, in Italian (between C1 and C2 Levels of the CEFR)
2. Identify, use and reflect on complex linguistic structures and different registers in Italian 3. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and an ability to see the world’s societies and cultures from multiple perspectives.
4. Support effective work and functioning in another country through advanced engagement with multiple genres.
5. Show a broad understanding and cultural awareness of societies where Italian is spoken 6. Demonstrate depth of engagement with specific aspects of art, literature, and culture as well as of social and historical issues pertaining to Italian culture
7. Select and use specialist knowledge to engage critically with current debates in the field(s) of study.

Skills Learning Outcomes
By the end of Year 4, you will be able to:
1. Produce an autonomous piece of extended research, under the guidance of a supervisor.
2. Present a structured, sustained argument, and communicate using terminology and concepts appropriate to the field(s) of study.
3. Evaluate and critically synthesize complex information and debates in a specific research domain.
4. Reflect on, and work in accordance with, the ethical considerations raised in the research process.
5. Use a wide range of resources and techniques to undertake your research (to include digital tools, enhancing your digital creation, communication and collaboration proficiency).
6. Work effectively on long projects (including the FYP), in a well-organised way.
7. Work effectively and creatively as part of a team, practising problem-solving.

Assessment

Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme. These may include an extended research project, essays, individual and group presentations, creative writing exercises, portfolio, podcasts, reflective logs and exams.
