Subject Specific Learning Outcomes
1. Evaluate and critique the developing research areas which underpin the sport and exercise sciences.
2. Using published studies of recent research, appraise how these concepts are crucially integrated and are modified or adapt in different environments or disease.
3. Demonstrate ethical and cultural awareness and competencies, demonstrate awareness and adherence to relevant health and safety requirements and/or regulatory standards.
4. Apply research, experimental and/or technical competencies to create a graduating level enquiry-based capstone output or solution to a problem relevant to sport and exercise sciences.

1.Critically analyse, evaluate and synthesise developments and hypotheses within Sport and Exercise Sciences, making use of a variety of sources.
2. Effectively apply theoretical and practical knowledge to solve problems in Sport and Exercise Sciences.
3. Effectively communicate to a variety of audiences through, for example, written and oral approaches, scientific, technical and mathematical concepts, and theoretical principles making use of equations, illustrations, figures and references as appropriate to Sport and Exercise Sciences.
4.Demonstrate a range of skills in Sport and Exercise Sciences relevant to fundamental and applied research in academia, industry and the patient/public environment with support as appropriate.
5.Collect, process, analyse, interpret and effectively communicate data, numerical, non-numerica land visual, using appropriate techniques and tools, form logical and reasonable conclusions and recommendations, using appropriate support where necessary.
6.Effectively follow practical experimental protocols and use a range of techniques and apparatus in the laboratory and/or field environment, as appropriate in Sport and Exercise Sciences, competently and safely, using appropriate support where necessary.

Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the programme and modules specified for the year/programme and will include:
- Demonstrating the ability to apply a broad range of aspects of sport and exercise sciences;
- Work that draws on a wide variety of material;
- The ability to evaluate and criticise received opinion;
- Evidence of an ability to conduct independent, in-depth enquiry within sport and exercise sciences;
- Work that is typically both evaluative and creative;
- Assessing the integration of knowledge and understanding across the discipline.
It will encompass a range of both formative and summative assessment at both module and programme level.
