Learning outcomes

On completion of the year students should have provided evidence of being able to:
i. Explain how they have applied existing subject knowledge and understanding to the role.
ii. Reflect on the knowledge, competencies and skills they have developed during their placement.
iii. Identify and articulate their career values and goals.
iv. Reflect on and evaluate their own professional development and identify their future requirements in terms of professional development.

Transferable (key) skills

Students will have had the opportunity to develop and practice:
i) Communication: The ability to convey and receive information clearly, accurately, and appropriately, and the ability to tailor your message for different audiences.
ii) Personal management: The ability to manage oneself, to use own initiative and to direct, monitor and evaluate own efforts. The ability to seek/accept feedback and to engage with career and networking opportunities.  
iii) Interpersonal skills: The ability to demonstrate awareness and understanding of self and others; to be able to enact and/or recognise the importance of building rapport, relationships and networking with others. Respectful and considerate of the needs and perspectives of others.
iv) Adaptability and flexibility: The willingness and ability to adjust to changing working environments and new technologies, and to change or compromise approach in response to changing needs or demands.
v) Time management, planning and organising: The ability to use own tools and strategies, with appropriate support, to manage own time efficiently and productively, and to prioritise tasks.
vi) Problem solving and analytical skills: The ability to take an effective approach to solving problems; resolving issues by tackling from different angles, using both analytical and creative skills.
vii) Commercial Awareness: The ability to understand how a business or organisation operates, what makes it successful, its customers, and an awareness of the wider environment within which it operates.
viii) Working under pressure: The ability to work to deadlines, and to tolerate demands and pressure.

Assessment

Achievement will be assessed (on a Pass/Fail basis) by a reflective portfolio.
