Learning outcomes

1. Devise a range of ideas in response to current or future societal/industry creative challenges in Fashion Design Innovation and its related material/digital practices. 
2. Design Fashion Innovation outcomes incorporating relevant material/digital practices in response to contemporary or future hypothetical project briefs, using skills and knowledge to push disciplinary boundaries.
3. Justify concepts, arguments, and outcomes in a variety of forms, questioning theories and practices in the Fashion and Textiles field.
4. Propose and evaluate research for independent areas of interest in Fashion Design Innovation, addressing current or future societal/industry needs.

Skills Learning Outcomes

1. Apply effective written/visual/other communication skills to present a coherent and sustained argument
2. Demonstrate adherence to professional frameworks
3. Contribute to contemporary discourses by incorporating ethically aware and globally diverse perspectives in projects.

Competence Standards
1.Demonstrate effective self-directed learning (with appropriate support if required) in compiling and reviewing research in response to a brief
2. Reflect effectively upon research findings to communicate and develop concepts, arguments, and to justify fashion design decision making
3. Demonstrate a range of skills in fashion design production using appropriate support as necessary

Assessment

Assessment is aligned to the learning outcomes of each module, so students will be assessed through a variety of methods dependent on the module and the level of the programme. These may include visual 2D and 3D creative responses such as portfolios of research, design development, experimental samples and final designs or artefacts; or text and image, blogs, short videos, presentations, and more traditional formats such as essays, reports and occasional exams.

Final year study becomes more self-directed with forms of assessment often being negotiated and agreed with tutors.
