1. Initiate, research, and complete an extended research project.
2. Critically evaluate primary sources related to a highly specialised area of history.
3. Evaluate theories, approaches and methods in sociology at an advanced level.
4. Synthesise and use research, theory and contemporary studies in sociology and adjacent fields.

1. Effectively communicate key facts, ideas, and arguments about history and sociology to diverse audiences.

Assessment

BA History and Sociology uses a combination of different assessment methods to capture the range of ways that students learn on the programme. At Level 3 assessment types across our compulsory and optional modules typically include: a final year project, primary source analyses (‘gobbets’), literature reviews; presentations; essays; and online exams.
