Subject Specific Learning Outcomes

1. Identify and articulate the political, social and economic value and function of audiences in relationship to the cultural sector

2. Critically evaluate the role of participation and engagement in contemporary practice within the arts and cultural sector

3. Develop an understanding of the underlying principles of the right to culture and the role participation plays within this

4. Conduct independent research that responds to issues in the field of audience engagement and participation

1. Search for, evaluate and use information from relevant sources to support arguments and draw informed conclusions

Assessment

Students are assessed throughout the course with a balanced mix of assessment modes which are likely to include the following: individual or small group presentations, written reports, academic essays and an extended individual research project.
