Demonstrating the ability to apply both breadth and depth of knowledge to a complex specialist area involves drawing on a range of perspectives and evaluating received opinions. This requires making sound judgements while understanding the limitations inherent in literature and guidelines. Applying clinical knowledge within one’s specialist area is crucial to support advanced practice. Therefore, the approach to assessment is discipline specific with one piece of assessed coursework per module ARCS5204M a written essay, ARCS5205M an oral presentation, with the option to utilise either discipline specific approach to a case study or a generic approach to patient management with specific pathologies. Both approaches allow demonstration of understanding of core components of the programme, allowing the combination of evidence from a variety of sources and application to your own professional requirements, ensuring assessment is relevant and meaningful to your own clinical area.
