Learning outcomes

1- Critically evaluate the factors that shape the relationships between business, environment and society.
2- Analyse the ways in which the interactions between government, business and stakeholder groups can motivate and define the influence of related frameworks and initiatives.
3- Analyse problems and propose solutions based on sustainability and business-related research and knowledge.
4- Create ideas and hypotheses and evaluate these in relation to current issues and research in sustainability and business research.
5- Evaluate concepts, information and techniques informed by knowledge at the forefront of sustainability and business research.

Skills Learning Outcomes

1- Critical thinking in developing professional/disciplinary boundaries and norms.
2- Effective communication skills in order to engage in interdisciplinary thinking about sustainability and business.
3- Planning and resource use to undertake multi-disciplinary work on sustainability-related topics.
4- The skills necessary to undertake a higher research degree and/or for employment in a higher capacity in an industry or area of professional practice, namely, presentation skills, collaboration, problem-solving and analytical skills.
5- Developing and acting on creative and purposeful ideas within the domain of sustainability and business.

Assessment

You will be assessed by a combination of traditional assessment techniques, such as reports, presentations, and assessment techniques for the experiential and blended learning elements of the programme, such as group work and case studies. The assessments are designed to develop the necessarily skills needed by professionals working in sustainability and business facing roles in organisations. Additionally, your final Masters research project will be in the form of a business-style research report with an accompanying dissemination output.
