Learning outcomes

On completion of the programme students should have shown evidence of being able:

Competence Standards

1. Demonstrate knowledge of key information systems and information management research and literature.
2. Identify and analyse opportunities and challenges for systems development and innovation in organisational and global contexts with a specific focus on cultural and ethical issues.
3. Initiate, lead, deliver and communicate results of a research project.
4. Evaluate your own performance including taking feedback on board, setting goals and proactively seeking opportunities to meet those goals.
5. Demonstrate communication skills where different audiences, conventions, contexts and needs are taken into consideration.
6. Collaborate and communicate with peers using a variety of approaches and techniques to achieve shared goals.

Transferable (key) skills

Masters (Taught) students will have had the opportunity to acquire the following abilities as defined in the modules specified for the programme:

- TS1: analysis and critical thinking within the discipline: the skills necessary to undertake a higher research degree and/or for employment in a higher capacity in industry/professional practice;

Assessment

Achievement for the degree of Master (taught programme) will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will involve the achievement of the students in:

- Al: evidencing an ability to conduct independent in-depth enquiry within the discipline;
- A2: demonstrating the ability to apply breadth and/or depth of knowledge to a complex specialist area;
- A3: drawing on a range of perspectives on an area of study;
- A4: evaluating and criticising received opinion;
- A5: make reasoned judgements whilst understanding the limitations on judgements made in the absence of complete data.
