On completion of the year abroad, students should show evidence of:
- extended knowledge base in their subject by extension through the culture, institutions and working practices of another country;
- the study of particular, aspects and forms of visual art in the host country including stylistic conventions and surrounding discourses;
- the ability to independently sustain, evaluate and contextualise personal practice in Fine Art;
- an understanding of aspects of curatorship and the presentation, projection and marketing of art with reference to contributors to the art press of the host country;
- consolidation and synthesis of those aspects of the taught programme at the host institution that formed part of the syllabus;
- personal skills including communication, teamwork, problem solving, decision making and independent learning.
