Subject Specific Learning Outcomes
1. An understanding of human social, industrial/commercial, political and cultural systems from spatial, environmental and economic perspectives.
2. An understanding of geography’s intellectual development; an understanding of economics’ intellectual development;
3. An appreciation of the practical contributions made by geographers and economics to debates and policy on
societal and environmental issues, and an understanding of their potential for continuing such contributions;
4. The skills necessary to engage with ideas in the social sciences and humanities;
5. Skills in the use and the application of qualitative and quantitative analysis to geographical study;
6. Skills in the use of quantitative analysis as applied to economic study;
7. Skills in teamwork, investigation, presentation and communication.

Achievement will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules specified for the year/programme and will include:
- demonstrating the knowledge and application of standard concepts, information and techniques relevant to the joint honours disciplines;
- work that covers a restricted areas of the joint honours disciplines;
- demonstrating emerging abilities, skills and competencies.
