Programme specification

This programme is an English language pre-sessional designed to support students who either do not meet the English language requirements for their chosen postgraduate research programme or who wish to gain a better understanding of the academic language and literacy practices in their area of study.

This programme will help you develop the language skills, knowledge and understanding required for doctoral research across all fields of study. You will study core content relating to postgraduate research in a UK higher education context, alongside material from your own area of research interest, to help you develop your language competence and ability to communicate at an appropriate academic level within your chosen field of study. You will have the chance to work both individually and with others through a series of classes, seminars and tutorials.
