This programme will provide students with an in-depth understanding of how journalism shapes – and is shaped by – global political, social, economic and cultural issues. Students will be introduced to scholarly debates in the field of journalism studies, ranging from the impact of digital technologies on journalism practice to the relationship between journalism and politics. Students will learn to critically examine journalism practice across different media systems in different countries. The programme is designed to cater for students who wish to study journalism at MA level and graduates who have a background in the journalism industry.
