Programme specification

The programme has been developed to provide a new Gateway to Medicine route for students who meet Leeds Widening Participation criteria.

The programme will equip students with effective study strategies and confidence in communicating with a wide range of people including health professionals and patients and carers. Students will develop appreciation of patient care and team roles and the patient journey within the context of the NHS and voluntary services through placement experience.

The programme will inspire confidence and ambition in students to ensure successful transition and progression through undergraduate medicine in Leeds.
