Not applicable as course is pre-medicine entry. There is no QAA Framework for HE qualifications in the Foundation Year, or level 0. The programme content is very well informed by sharing good practise and experience with other institutions in the sector who offer a similar ‘Gateway to Medicine’ Year in other HE Institutions.

Programme specification
The programme has been developed to provide a new Gateway to Medicine route for students who meet Leeds Widening Participation criteria.
The programme will equip students with effective study strategies and confidence in communicating with a wide range of people including health professionals and patients and carers. Students will develop appreciation of patient care and team roles and the patient journey within the context of the NHS and voluntary services through placement experience.
The programme will inspire confidence and ambition in students to ensure successful transition and progression through undergraduate medicine in Leeds.
