On completion of this module, students will have:
Undertaken geological fieldwork in a suitable location in the Mediterranean (such as Cyprus or Spain) to investigate the Mesozoic and Cenozoic evolution of part of the Mediterranean. Aspects of applied geoscience will likely also be incorporated.
On completion of this module students will:
1) have investigated how pure and applied geological concepts may be used in field situations.
2) developed skills of integration, field observations and synthesis of geological models, including synthesis of field and literature data.
3) Developed specific knowledge surrounding the diverse types of geology found in a field location, their origins and any impacts upon society.
- Geological observations/syntheses in the field.
- Preparatory lecture(s) and self study of background materials.
