The module is designed to provide students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of a topic (or topics) of their choosing, subject to the approval of the School and to the availability of one or more appropriately qualified supervisors. The form of the assessment will normally be a long essay but may be negotiated with the student.
To encourage students to design and undertake an independent research project in Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, or History of Science.
- Knowledge and understanding of the topics in Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies, or History of Science that are studied in the module;
- Appropriate skills of independent research;
- Appropriate skills of working with a supervisor.
