On completion of the module, students will have constructed an essay (dissertation) of 10,000-12,000 words based on independent study under supervision. The project should be relatively restricted in scope, by confining the area to be studied in detail or by restraint in the application of methodology.
Candidates should show ability to use and distinguish between primary and secondary sources of information, and ability in presentation of the ideas in good English with supporting diagrams, examples, bibliography, and appendices as appropriate.

The syllabus is defined by the objectives. The project is chosen by the student in consultation with the supervisor.
