Module summary

On this module you will be encouraged to explore creative applications of music technology, by learning new skills and considering how your practice sits within the broader history of the technologies that you encounter. You will be introduced to appropriate theoretical concepts and examples of practice that will help you to understand creative music technology in depth. You will develop your critical and problem-solving skills through collaborative and individual practical work in response to a brief. Final assessment will be based on your individual contribution to a portfolio of creative music technology work, and your development of new skills and knowledge.

Objectives

This module aims to develop practical skills and contextual understanding of the creative application of music technology. Specific topics in areas of applied music technology will be introduced and practiced within the course. You will be encouraged to consider how relevant precedents and theory relate to your practical investigation, and to document your independent development of skills and knowledge rigorously over time.
