For progression to Year 2 of the MBChB, each student is required to pass all Year 1 modules.
The Year 1 Integrated Summative comprises of two 120 single-best answer MCQs papers and an Anatomy Spot test. It is a competency-based assessment, with standard setting using appropriate methods employed and all results evaluated for validity and reliability of the examination. Students are required to pass the written examination (grade D or above) in order to progress to Year 2.
The result for this assessment is also the basis on which eligibility for MBChB with Honours is determined.
