On completion of this module students should be able to: - appreciate the value of quantitative approach to solving a wide range of business problems - recognise limitations of a quantitative approach - understand and apply basic statistical concepts within business situations - benefit from modules of their degree programme that require possession of quantitative skills and knowledge. The module allows students to consider foundation statistics for management and business programmes comprising: - descriptive statistics - frequency distributions and histograms - averages and measures of dispersion - regression and correlation - ANOVA - the nature of probability and probability distributions - sampling theory, estimation and confidence intervals - hypothesis testing.
