This module will introduce you to some of the analytical models and data analysis techniques used by business analysts to make data informed business decisions. You will use software to explore a range of data, present key findings aligned to a business scenario, and present these findings in an appropriate format.
The objectives of the module are to enable you to:
1. Describe the role and typical activities undertaken by business analysts.
2. Discuss the types of data that business analysts may utilise in making decisions and consider possible sources to obtain this data.
3. Analyse, interpret and present data for an example business context.
4. Present information in an appropriate format for use by stakeholders and decision makers.
On successful completion of the module students will have demonstrated the following learning outcomes relevant to the subject:
1. Critically evaluate a range of analytical models used to support the business decision making processes.
2. Apply a range of software techniques to analyse business data.
3. Assess the role of analytical techniques in supporting future business decisions.
4. Organise data into an appropriate format ready for businesses to reflect on and evaluate as need arises.
5. Present key findings and recommendations to a specific business question in a format appropriate to relevant stakeholders.
