This module is not approved as a discovery module
This module introduces you to a range of quantitative techniques that are commonly used as management decision making tools. You will also develop an understanding of the limitations of the application of quantitative techniques within a decision making context.
The aims of the module are to enable the student to:
-Analyse and interpret quantitative data
-Apply quantitative and statistical techniques
-Present quantitative information in a suitable format for use by management
On successful completion of the module students will be able to:
- Apply and interpret probability theory and decision analysis
- Apply and interpret inferential statistical tests
- Formulate and interpret a linear programming model
- Apply and interpret time-series analysis
The content will cover such areas as:
-Central tendency and variability
- Probability theory and decision trees
- Sampling Theory and the Central Limit Theorem
-Confidence Intervals
-Hypothesis Testing
- Linear programming
- Time series analysis.
