Using curricula with which you are familiar, this module encourages critical analysis of their design and purposes, considering how they have been socially and politically constructed. Focusing on the decision-making processes and distinguishing between assessment methods and strategies, the significance of assessment strategies in designing and planning the curriculum will be considered. In examining the relationship between assessment and evaluation, you will explore issues of quality assurance and the idea of a curriculum development cycle.
By the end of this module, students will be able to:

understand key concepts, principles and types of assessment and evaluation;

- Preparation and background reading for lectures: 100 hours
