Module summary

This module introduces you to the social, political and economic history of authoritarian and authoritarian regimes in inter-war Europe. Please note this is an optional module and runs subject to enrolments. If a low number of students choose this module, then the module may not run and you may be asked to choose another module.

Objectives

In the course of this module you should further develop your skills of historical enquiry, interpretation and synthesis.

By the end of the module you should show:

- knowledge of key issues in the social, political and economic history of inter-war Europe;
- an awareness of the varieties of authoritarian and totalitarian regimes;
- an understanding of the sources of social support for and resistance to these dictatorships, and the nature of every-day life under them.

Learning outcomes
