Module summary

The monitoring and control of food quality and safety is an important aspect in food production. Ensuring safe and nutritious foods that meet consumer expectations for quality and safety can only be achieved by the use of different tools and techniques. The module will examine different aspects of quality managment, quality assurance and quality controls.

Objectives

On completion of this module students will be better able to:
1) Understand the roles of quality control, quality assurance and quality management systems and their application in the
Food Industry

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module students will be better able to:
1. Describe methods used in quality assurance and quality management in the Food industry
2. Understand how some quality assurance techniques can be used to monitor and control food quality and food safety
