This module provides you with the opportunity to get involved in the latest research in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures and beyond. You will work closely with an academic member of staff and a group of fellow students in a project directly related to ongoing research and will undertake research tasks linked to the production of an output. You will learn how to undertake research and create new knowledge.
The purpose of this module is to immerse you in the collaborative nature of research within the Liberal Arts, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, critical analysis, and effective communication. By engaging in team-based research projects, you will explore innovative interdisciplinary topics, fostering a deeper understanding of how diverse perspectives can enrich academic inquiry.
This module is designed to promote active participation, allowing you to reflect on and thereby take ownership of your learning and directly apply diverse theoretical concepts in practical, cutting-edge contexts.
On successful completion of the module students will have demonstrated the following learning outcomes relevant to the subject:
1. Analyse and accurately present information and arguments from one or more different disciplines and use a range of data and evidence sources.
2. Undertake research as part of a team and produce a research output suitable to the research topic or discipline.
3. Reflect on and identify skills and attributes acquired, and how these relate to individual future ambitions.

Student progress will be monitored via the reflective log that will be assessed formally at the end of semester 2 but formative feedback on a plan will be provided at the end of semester 1.
Formative feedback will also be provided to the whole cohort following the Networking Event (November) and individual group feedback provided following the UGRE presentation.
Formative feedback is provided through a practice presentation (in November) as well as through a draft 1,000 word reflective log.
