In this module students learn how to read and write Thai script and study the basic structures and vocabulary of modern spoken and written Thai essential for navigating real-life situations. The module also introduces students to Thai social customs, values and behaviour through language study to enhance inter-cultural knowledge and awareness.
This module is designed for beginner learners with little or no prior knowledge of the Thai language. On successful completion of the module you will be able to:

2. Recognise and use correct Thai pronunciation and apply essential features of Thai grammar, both orally and in writing, utilising the introduced structures.
3. Comprehend passages on everyday topics written in Thai or presented aurally that have been introduced during the course.
4. Engage in culturally appropriate conversations and produce simple, structured pieces of writing about basic everyday topics in Thai script.
