Module summary

Students on this course undertake self-directed study under academic supervision in the production of an individual discipline-based project intended as original work for public viewing or for industry development. Following an introductory lecture, teaching will take the form of regular supervision meetings to support the production process including work-in-progress meetings leading up to the submission of a completed project in the chosen form. A substantial piece of reflective, analytical work will be produced in relation to the production, where the project will be critically evaluated. Please note this is an optional module and runs subject to enrolments. If a low number of students choose this module, then the module may not run and you may be asked to choose another module.

Objectives

This module requires students to research into their specialist project area informed by scholarship and industry-based developments. Students will construct advanced original projects using industry-relevant equipment and/or software. Working effectively as an individual, students will critically self-assess their project. Students will plan and schedule their project by specified deadlines and produce original work intended for a wider audience.
