This module is suitable for students who already have 2 years' experience of the language beyond A-Level (or equivalent) in Latin. It is worth 10 credits and runs over both semesters, with 1 class per week. Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:
- develop a broader appreciation of the Latin language by means of advanced instruction of Latin prose composition, metrics and textual criticism.
Syllabus
Active language practice (including prose composition); metre (lyric and recitative metres); textual criticism.
