This module enhances a range of personal and professional related skills (technical applied transport skills and project management skills) by placing students in a multi-disciplinary project group and asking them to undertake a specific transport project as suggested by a client. The module will build upon the Shaping Futures Transport Systems module; highlighting the contribution of different roles in transport sector projects and equipping them with the fundamental techniques for working in inter-disciplinary teams.
This module will build upon the SFTS module so that on completion of this module students will have an increased knowledge and understanding of: project design & management; the integration of various subjects as taught across the Transport masters programmes; the demands of applying technical transport skills to practical situations; the impact of the transport disciplines on society; and the practical transferable skills required of a transport professional.
On successful completion of the module students will have demonstrated the following learning outcomes relevant to the subject:
1. To understand principles of applied transport analysis
2. Integration of transport principles covering the core transport masters programmes
3. Application and demonstration of technical skills relevant to the students programme discipline
