To give students the opportunity to research and write on a subject of their own choice related to the programme on which they are registered. Through workshops and individual supervision, to introduce students to the general principles and practices of research and thesis writing and the specific methods relating to their enquiry.
Detailed and critical understanding of the relevant field, depending on the topic of the dissertation.
The module will develop skills in independent research. Some skills will depend upon the student’s choice of topic.
Independent study, with individual supervision, to research and write a dissertation of 18 to 20,000 words.
