Objectives

• Understand the varying business and corporate social responsibility (CSR) requirements.
• Link the theoretical basis of sustainable business and corporate responsibility to practical approaches and issues.
• Understand various 'real-life' cases and be able to identify which management technique, within the field of sustainable business and CSR, is appropriate in various settings.
• Be able to identify, evaluate and provide appropriate solutions to the social aspects of sustainable business and CSR.

Syllabus

1. Practical links between CSR, Business and SD.
2. Environmental, sustainability and CSR governance and policies.
3. Approaches (and their critics) in CSR and sustainable business.
4. Global and SME business perspectives of CSR.
5. Collaboration, partnerships and dialogue.
6. External and internal communication.
7. Ranking and benchmarking.
8. Social aspects of CSR such as human rights, labour practices and consumer issues.
9. ‘Real life’ case studies for evaluation and analysis.
