Module summary
This module allows a student with an interest in a topic not usually taught at Leeds to find a supervisor willing to set a reading course and to pursue guided study in that area.
Objectives
Students, with the guidance of a supervisor, will study a topic. They will meet their supervisor regularly over the course of the semester, to update on progress, be given direction, and discuss any major difficulties. This may be done individually or as part of group, if a number of students are interested in the same topic.

On successful completion of the module students will be able to:
Articulate the major features of their chosen topic of study;
Demonstrate facility with key techniques and results in the selected area; and
Elucidate connections within this topic, and between this topic and related areas of mathematics.
