Objectives

This module aims to integrate knowledge of entrepreneurship with new enterprise design. It will help create an advanced understanding of the process of new enterprise design within the context of enterprise skills and the theory of entrepreneurship.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module students will be able to:

1. Apply the new enterprise design process, including researching for the creation, development and communication of a new enterprise opportunity
2. Critically evaluate theory relating to entrepreneurship and new enterprise design
3. Critically evaluate how individuals develop and deliver outcomes in relation to new enterprise design

On completion of this module students will be able to:

- Assess and report on skills and attributes in these areas

Private study

The module has a core text and a recommended reading list.

In order to contribute to the module students will be expected to read a variety of different sources of information, including: academic literature, newspapers and online media relating to entrepreneurship and enterprise. Typically 68 hours.


Students will work independently on an assignment, which will draw on the module content and reading. Typically 50 hours.

On non-teaching days you are expected to carry out independent work related to the module.

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Students will be encouraged to contribute to discussions in the sessions. Opportunities for assignment guidance will be offered to students.
