Module summary

In this module you will continue to attend placement, clinical supervision and personal therapy to aid your development as an independent psychotherapy practitioner. Your progression is captured through the submission of a portfolio containing placement and supervision reports and logs of client contact hours, clinical supervision and personal therapy.

Objectives

This module is for students to be able to demonstrate their capacity to offer a facilitative psychotherapy. Students will be expected to accrue further supervised client hours, clinical supervision and personal therapy hours and submit satisfactory reports from their placement provider and clinical supervisor commenting on their practice and work within a psychotherapy organisation.

Learning outcomes

1. Demonstrate an advanced therapeutic relationship with clients sufficient to be an independent UKCP registered psychotherapist
2. Evidence critical and effective use of clinical supervision in psychotherapy practice
3. Evidence effective critical engagement in clinical placement as a psychotherapy practitioner
4. Demonstrate ongoing critical engagement with personal therapy.

Skills outcomes

Students will be required to demonstrate a level of counselling skills and self and intersubjective awareness commensurate with independent practice as a psychotherapist

Private study

Students will use private study hours to select a recording for submission for their summative assessment and to compile their portfolios

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Students will receive academic supervision to assist with selecting a recording for submission and with compiling their portfolio
