Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:
- demonstrate an in-depth comprehension of the topics/issues relevant to the project;
- select and apply the appropriate research methods for their chosen project area;
- demonstrate independent application of the knowledge, methods and techniques that he or she has acquired during the MSc programme in producing a solution in the project. Normally some elements of software implementation are expected;
- demonstrate skills in project management and research presentation;
- produce a critical evaluation on the outcome of the project.
Syllabus
The process of conducting a Masters project. Literature review and research methods. Writing up the dissertation. Regular meetings with supervisor(s) to discuss project work; where appropriate, meetings with external 'project owner' to ascertain direction and scope of project.
